Continuing with a series of successful workshops in Antwerp, Sydney, Lisbon, Boston, Sapporo, Philadelphia, Aalborg, and Hong Kong, this workshop spans the research interest area of discourse and dialogue. This series provides a regular forum for the presentation of research in this area to both the larger SIGdial community as well as researchers outside this community. The workshop is organized by SIGDIAL, the Special Interest Group on Discourse and Dialogue, which is sponsored jointly by the Association for Computational Linguistics and the International Speech Communication Association.
The 9th SIGdial Workshop on Discourse and Dialogue will be held on June 19-20, 2008 in Columbus, Ohio.
There will be an invited talk by Prof. Julia Hirschberg (Columbia University) on "Speaking More Like You: Lexical, Acoustic/Prosodic, and Discourse Entrainment in Spoken Dialogue Systems".
